The Last Legion: Irrelevant and Forgettable

Aishwarya (Ash) Rai's last movie on the Continent before she tied the knot with her scion of a hubby. India must be real proud of Ash being both their international beauty queen and international actress. Husband also real fierce one-anak jantan fellow - not toy-boy -lah.

This movie is a yarn that tells about the possible background of King Authur and the birth of his sword Excalibur. If one is to believe this story, then Authur was a son of the last of the Caesar, Romulus and Excalibur was actually the sword of Julius Caesar forged from meteorite elements.

A product from the De Laurentiis studio in Italy, The Last Legend is actually a B grade television fodder.

See the movie if you want to see Ash kick butt like a barbarian Amazon on heat and dipping in the azure-blue sea.

Otherwise, save your money with some syariah-compliant mutual fund.

Casino King "Cashes in his Chips"

Just before noon yesterday, Lim Goh Tong, Malaysia's casino king ''cashes in'' at 90 years old.

A wise man, he has put Kok Thay in the leadership pole position in favour of his other children.

An ally of the Tengku, he took the challenge to build a casino in the sky and succeeded. He has left a legacy for the next generation to build upon.

Lim is one of the richest people in Malaysia, with an estimated wealth of $4.3 billion.

His Genting Group has diversified interests in gaming, hotels and cruise lines from Britain to Hong Kong.

Will we see a more aggressive move form Kok Thay now that his father is no longer the overseeing advisor?

Already Genting shares have upped 40 sen this morning to hail the passing of the Great Founder.

May he rests in peace!

Fairest of Them All

The family had some discussion on who is the prettiest Malay actress currently after watching Pontianak with Maya Karin during the Hari Raya holidays.

We all agreed Fasha Sandha was more Bollywood stuff. My wife was of the opinion that Erra Fazira is the fairest of them all. My daughter says Sharifah Armani wasn't too bad.
My preference: Nur Fazura is the fairest of them all. Kecik molek, sexy, huggable and adorable in one fantastic packaging.

No one said anything about Maya Karin. Sad, sad, sad!

Crawford is Fair Game

Well edited fast-moving B grade movie.

Plenty of action but lacks suspense. The only thing worthy in the film is Cindy Crawford. She was in her best packaging and peak beauty in 1995 when the movie was made. Age has caught up with her today though she continues to be attractive.

If you have time on your hands, go back to 1995 to re-live some of the nice scenes that Cindy appears in. Forget the three Razzies. Have an eyeful of Cindy.

Ms Crawford is to die for….

Tantalizing!

Free of PMR at Last!

For my son, today is a singular red letter day. After his Geography paper, it was a big hurrah as they left for home, free as birds. In celebration mood, some one even let off fire crackers illegally outside the school compound.

Until the results are announced on 26 December, these students will be in complete anomie. Some will go onto their on-line games while others watched the overdue DVDs.

My son is ready for me to get off the computer so he can get on to his Maple game.

The Fabulous Birdie Num-Num

One fabulous bird,it sure is.

We went home last Saturday to see my dad. While we were chatting with some of our relatives and waiting for dad to come home from the shopping area, my wife and two children went to look at the neighbour's fine feathered friend, the myna in his cage hanging from a low bough of a mango tree.

This bird has been professionally trained. A couple of years back ,it would greet any one who comes near with the sweetest asamulaikum (Peace be with You) greeting. I would consider that as first rate mimicry at that time. This time around, this birdie num num, (for want of its real name) has indeed surpassed itself.

Listen to this exchange dialogue between my wife and Birdie Num Num.

Birdie: Asamukaikum (Peace be with you)

Wife. Mulaikum salam ( And with you also)

Birdie: Want to fight?

Wife. Ok

Birdie: One on one?

Wife: Yes

Birdie: (After a couple of seconds hesitation) Oh no!

Birdie: (In jest) Ha! Ha! Ha! (high pitch)

Fun bird.

Made the children'day visiting grandad.
