A Truly Badawi Moment

The most generous pay packet increase in the history of the Malaysian civil service. A truly Badawi moment.

Being an ex-civil servant himself, he knew the hardship of civil servants against run away inflation. How they suffered the injustice of being the 'poorer cousins' to the private sector.

Civil servants have been labeled corrupted and inefficient. It is hoped that with this increase, corruption can be further checked and performance upped. This new salary increase which gave 20% more (over and above the 7 1/2 to 35% salary increase to the civil service) to the police and army is a wonderful departure and is a first to recognize the immense contributions and the dangers that confront these two services. It is also a motivation for more to join the police and armed forces.

The civil servants have surely been blessed. Even the pensioners are smiling.

Congratulations to Premier Badawi. You have truly arrived!
