Cashing in while it is Hot News

Coffee shops these days are great. Even before civil servants get their new pay packets at the end of July, coffee shops are cashing in and beginning to raise their prices.

According to Sifu Ho, the advisor to the SEAPARK Residents Association, this particular shop in Paramount Garden has increased its red bean porridge by twenty cents this morning. It was RM2.00 yesterday but this morning when he was having this breakfast delicacy, he was shocked to have to foot the bill with twenty cents more on the tab. Boy, that sure was fast capitalizing on the salary increase news.

Dr. Lee, whom I met later told me that shop should be boycotted. Well, it is difficult if that shop is your regular watering hole. Maybe you can take a bowl of red bean porridge once every two days just to display your disfavour.

Or you can just take Dr. Lee's advice seriously and keep away from that shop. Choice is all yours.
