My Good Friend, Kok Chian
I remembered fondly this kind gentleman who stayed at the quarters next to mine, to be exact Block 18. He was a teacher and was doing his degree in geography.
Initially, because of the age-gap, we kept away from each other. After some-times we became familiar with each other and went out for dinner. He was a nice guy, really and likes to sing old cowboy songs such as the one sang by Slim Whitman. He plays the guitar well.
I still recall him crooning away "South of the Border" in his unique style.
Those were the days. I wonder where is he now?
