Freddy-You are the Greatest!

I remembered Freddy Fender through two of his memorable songs- Before the Next Teardrop Fell and Wasted Days and Wasted Nights. I was then a bachelor at varsity and every weekend we would sing with fellow bachelors that song Wasted Days and Wasted Nights. It was fun then, trying to emulate the way Freddie sang the song.

That time has passed us by. Freddy died last October of cancer. Strangely, I recall of a friend called Joseph who looked a bit like Freddy. He passed on earlier than Freddy.

I am now listening to the songs of Freddy Fender. He sung them oh so beautifully and quietly brings home the long forgotten nostalgia of yesteryears. Bravo Freddy!
