Teacher's Day

One day a year we celebrate Teacher's Day. The schools make it a big thing- a grand affair. A teacher will be in charge of sales of flowers, chocolates and all kinds of paraphernalia. These are, oftentimes, sold to students from the school cooperatives or specially customised booths in the school compound.

School classes are suspended as students stroll about bringing presents to their favourite teachers, who oftentimes are lady teachers.

My favourite teacher is the one I had a crush on when I was a little boy- my Standard Four class teacher, Amy Tan.
